Two colleagues who successfully undertook a gruelling Tough Mudder challenge are celebrating raising funds for us.
Andrew Kitchen (pictured, left) and Oliver Capel (pictured, right), who work at Soho-based Medico Digital - a healthcare marketing agency - have personal and professional experience of living with diabetes, and this prompted them to sign up for the endurance event.
Tough Mudders are run-based endurance events, with obstacles. In Oliver and Andy’s case, the course took three and a half hours of running over 15 km, plus 30 obstacles which included ice baths, crawling through trenches, tear gas and electroshock therapy.
Oliver said:
“In the healthcare marketing profession, we've seen how awareness can positively affect health outcomes, especially for chronic conditions like diabetes. We wanted to highlight the need for research and better treatments for this increasingly common condition.”
They have raised £1,648.
Jill Steaton, South East Coast and London Head of Diabetes UK, said:
“Oliver and Andrew went the extra mile to help us! We are very grateful to them.”
Oliver has a JustGiving page which can be found here - Oliver Capel is fundraising for Diabetes UK (justgiving.com)
