Our award-winning partnership with Tesco
We're proud to have been working with Tesco, alongside Cancer Research UK and British Heart Foundation, to help tackle the UK's biggest health challenges since 2018.
The award-winning partnership, 'Helping you to live healthier', brings together our skills and expertise, along with those of two leading health charities and the UK's leading food retailer, to help lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, cancer and heart and circulatory disease.
Diabetes, cancer and heart and circulatory disease account for more than half of all deaths in the UK. We all know someone who has been diagnosed, lives with, or has sadly lost their life to one of these conditions, yet roughly half of type 2 diabetes, four in ten cases of cancer and many heart and circulatory diseases can be prevented or delayed.
Let’s Talk
In 2022, we launched ‘Let's Talk’, a joint initiative delivering specialist training to Tesco pharmacists to support their conversations with customers. Through the programme, Tesco pharmacists and pharmacy colleagues across more than 220 sites increased their knowledge of diabetes, cancer and heart and circulatory diseases by completing a range of e-learning modules, enabling them to provide further information, resources and support to help reduce people’s risk of developing these health conditions.
All trained colleagues will wear a 'Let's Talk' badge to show customers they have completed the training. As we enter the second year of the programme, a further 99 Tesco pharmacies, including sites in Scotland and Wales will receive our training.
You can find your nearest participating store here. A pharmacy consultation room will be provided to ensure privacy.
Campaigning to make a difference
We’ve launched multiple joint campaigns to raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, including in the lead up to World Diabetes Day last year, and for Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week this year. We worked with Tesco to encourage thousands of people to know their risk of type 2 diabetes by completing our online Know Your Risk tool. And we also worked together to offer nutritionally balanced and tasty recipes, available on Tesco’s Real Food website, to help people living with and at risk of diabetes to eat healthier.

Celebrating 10 years of partnership
In 2023, we celebrated a decade of partnership with Tesco. From joint awareness campaigns to carrying out type 2 risk assessments in their pharmacies, Tesco have been committed to creating a healthier future for people living with and at risk of diabetes. Thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of Tesco customers and employees, we have raised millions of pounds to support the work we do, bringing us closer to a world where diabetes can do no harm.
Thank you to everyone at Tesco for 10 years of amazing support!
